Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Benjamin Sandy and Aiden Rollins Lead Franklin to Victory

On Saturday, the Franklin Wildcats were able to grind out a solid victory over the West Wolfpack, taking the game 67-55. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Wolfpack are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Franklin to victory were Aiden Rollins and Benjamin Sandy. Rollins dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Sandy went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Rollins a new career-high in boards. Brandon Wasserman was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.

Franklin will square off against Elk Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 74.4 points per game this season. As for West, they will take on Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
