Softball Game Preview: Arcadia Titans vs. Goldwater Bulldogs

The Arcadia Titans will square off against the Goldwater Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Arcadia beat St. Mary's 7-2. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Emma Lucas was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Sydney Kelley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Goldwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Thunderbird, falling 16-2.

Goldwater saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Pederson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Goldwater's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Arcadia, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 10-7-1.

Goldwater's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arcadia has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Goldwater, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Arcadia's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
