Basketball Recap: Rutland Hurricanes vs. Callaway Cavaliers
Rutland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 74-51 to the Callaway Cavaliers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hurricanes have suffered since January 14th.
Bryceton Sanders was a one-man wrecking crew for Callaway as he shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine assists. What's more, Sanders also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aj Williams, who posted 13 points and three steals.
Rutland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Callaway, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.
When Rutland and Callaway next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Rutland will take on Carver and their 15-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Callaway will try to stop Salem's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
