Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Aptos Mariners
The Soquel Knights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Aptos by a score of 26-14. For Soquel, this counts as revenge for the 62-0 defeat Aptos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2015.
Leading Soquel to victory were Braylon Noble and Sam Whelan. Noble picked up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Whelan threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Soquel's win was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Santa Cruz and 2-8 Aptos (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 25% over those games). As for Aptos, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Soquel will be playing at home against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carmel has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 418 points over their last nine matchups. Aptos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
