Softball Recap: Rodriguez Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Rodriguez was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 9-1 to the Vanden Vikings. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rodriguez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanna Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Rodriguez has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Vanden, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Rodriguez will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fairfield at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season. As for Vanden, they have already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Carondelet on the 5th.
