Preview: Chisholm Trail Rangers vs. Wyatt Chaparrals
The Chisholm Trail Rangers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Wyatt Chaparrals at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Chisholm Trail made easy work of Bell and carried off a 62-41 win. Given Chisholm Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Bell is ranked 764th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chisholm Trail's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Javon Smith, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Kaden Richardson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. The match was Smith's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Archange Mutombo, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Wyatt scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past North Side, posting a 80-31 victory on the road. The win was a breath of fresh air for Wyatt as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Chisholm Trail has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Wyatt, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
