Basketball Recap: East Union Comes Up Short

East Union suffered their biggest loss since January 4th on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mountain House Mustangs, falling 68-42. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 203rd).

It was another big night for Shamar Jones, who posted 32 points along with five boards and three steals for Mountain House. Jones has become a key player for Mountain House: the team is 12-4 when he posts at least 15 points, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Coldin Parker, who scored 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for East Union and nudges their season record down to 14-12. As for Mountain House, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Union will face off against Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Oakdale will need to watch out since Mountain House has now posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
