Basketball Recap: Gloria Deo Academy Has No Trouble Against First Baptist Academy

Gloria Deo Academy posted their biggest victory since February 15th on Saturday. They ended the year with a bang, routing the First Baptist Academy Eagles 47-27. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 43-42 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xaidyn McKennon, who posted six points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy De La Rosa, who put up 12 points.

The victory got Gloria Deo Academy back to even at 5-5. As for First Baptist Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-10.

Gloria Deo Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Great Hearts Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 24, 2025. As for First Baptist Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-46 win against Lifegate Christian on the 30th.
