Softball Recap: St. Martin Comes Up Short

St. Martin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 14-10 to the Ocean Springs Greyhounds. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Greyhounds earlier this season, when they won 15-4.

DKennedi Jenkins and Mia Boney stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jenkins scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Boney scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those hits marked the first that Jenkins got this season. Emma Claire Elmore was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

St. Martin's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Ocean Springs, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. Martin is set to take on their familiar foe D'Iberville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ocean Springs will challenge rival Biloxi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
