Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Del Norte's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Del Norte had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Arcata on Wednesday. The Warriors blew past the Tigers 14-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Willie Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Saxon Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Del Norte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Del Norte is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Arcata, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
