Preview: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. Carroll Patriots
Archbishop McNicholas is 8-2 against Carroll since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Archbishop McNicholas Rockets will be playing at home against the Carroll Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Archbishop McNicholas is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carroll in Ohio (Archbishop McNicholas is ranked 77th, while Carroll is ranked 286th).
Archbishop McNicholas unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of Archbishop Alter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Archbishop McNicholas has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andrew Ehlers, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Tucker, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Carroll earned a 50-38 win over Waynesville on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carroll.
Archbishop McNicholas' loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Carroll, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Archbishop McNicholas was able to grind out a solid victory over Carroll when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 50-43. Does Archbishop McNicholas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carroll turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
