Football Recap: James Monroe's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

After flying high against Charlottesville last Friday, James Monroe came back down to earth. The Yellow Jackets took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Massaponax Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Panthers are ranked 123rd).

Joe Sanders was a one-man wrecking crew For Massaponax. as he rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Brian Henderson also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, James Monroe fell to 2-1. As for Massaponax, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Monroe will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eastern View at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Massaponax, they will face off against Chancellor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
