Preview: Airline Vikings vs. Byrd Yellow Jackets
The Airline Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Byrd Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Airline is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Byrd in Louisiana (Airline is ranked 68th, while Byrd is ranked 1168th).
Last Monday, Airline was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to Southwood.
Byrd suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Captain Shreve on the road and fell 59-27.
Airline's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10. As for Byrd, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Airline strolled past Byrd in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 59-41. Does Airline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Byrd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
