Softball Recap: Gustine Comes Up Short

Gustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 17-2 to the Mariposa County Grizzlies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Reds of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Gustine saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anahi Alvarez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Gustine's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mariposa County, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4-1.

Gustine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-0 loss against Denair on the 21st. As for Mariposa County, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-3 win against Tournament Opponent on the 20th.
