Flag Football Game Preview: Pomona Red Devils vs. Orange Panthers

The Pomona Red Devils will face off against the Orange Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Pomona is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Edgewood, posting a 40-0 victory. Give the Red Devils' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

The critical scores for Pomona came from Ermy Cardona, Jaydeen Bravo, Belen Ibarra, Reyna Rodriguez, Aryana Garcia, and Maricela Quintana Medina.

Pomona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ibarra and Quintana Medina. Ibarra got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Orange made easy work of Santa Ana Valley on Wednesday and carried off a 26-6 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Orange pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Pomona, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
