Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Comes Up Short

Temple Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Faith Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 56-48 to the Faith Christian Warriors. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 44-29.

Matthew Burton was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 18 to rack up 23 points and six boards for Faith Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Ridge, who posted nine points and three steals.

Temple Christian's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Faith Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Temple Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Faith Christian, they will square off against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
