Recap: New Manna Christian Wind vs. Hilltop Christian Chargers
It was a good run, but the New Manna Christian Wind unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. The match between New Manna Christian and Hilltop Christian wasn't particularly close, with New Manna Christian falling 51-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Manna Christian has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilltop Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meleah Bell, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Bell's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy Jernigan, who scored 14 points.
New Manna Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Hilltop Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
New Manna Christian will be playing at home against N.C. School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. N.C. School for the Deaf's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so New Manna Christian's offense will have their work cut out for New Manna Christian. Hilltop Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
