Neligh-Oakdale falls despite strong effort from Hailey Horstmann

The Neligh-Oakdale Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 60-47 to North Central. Neligh-Oakdale found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 13 to 5 on offense.

When it comes to explaining why Neligh-Oakdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hailey Horstmann. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with three steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Horstmann has scored all season. Mallory Belitz was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists.

North Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adisyn Anderson led the charge by scoring 18 points along with three steals. Anderson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Karlene Kepler, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Neligh-Oakdale has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for North Central, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Neligh-Oakdale will head out on the road to square off against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for North Central, they will take on Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday.
