Softball Recap: Martin County Takes a Loss

Martin County's last matchup with Pike County Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Cardinals came up short against the Hawks, falling 17-1. The Cardinals have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Martin County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Pike County Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-22-1.

Coming up, Martin County is taking a road trip to face off against Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.89 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pike County Central, they will square off against Russell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
