Volleyball Recap: Brunswick Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alexis Must and Ashlie Lieb

If Brunswick was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of North Ridgeville on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walsh Jesuit Warriors on Monday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Walsh Jesuit scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21.

Brunswick's loss came despite strong showings from Ashlie Lieb and Alexis Must. Lieb had 17 digs and three aces, while Must had 11 digs. Lieb has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

Brunswick's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Walsh Jesuit, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Brunswick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Lorain on the 30th. Walsh Jesuit has also already played their next matchup (against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
