Volleyball Recap: Jacobs Gets the Win

Jacobs won the last time they faced Cary-Grove and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

While Jacobs won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-22.

Maddie Mitchell paced Jacobs' offense, picking up nine kills. Mitchell got some help from Gianna Coletti and her 16 assists. Mitchell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Jacobs' victory bumped their record up to 17-18. As for Cary-Grove, they dropped their record down to 8-27 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Jacobs will square off against Grant Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cary-Grove, they will challenge Crystal Lake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
