It's playoff time, and Los Altos had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a  run and slipped past the Sequoia Ravens  4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  8-6  two weeks ago.
 Kai MacQuiddy was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other pitching news, Los Altos got a great performance from  Sly Cash as he  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. Cash has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Gavin Moore, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
Los Altos has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record  this season. As for Sequoia, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record  this season.
