Softball Game Preview: West Johnston Wildcats vs. C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons

The West Johnston Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

C.B. Aycock will be up against a hot West Johnston team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. West Johnston's pitchers stepped up to hand Smithfield-Selma a 15-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won three matches by more than 14 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, C.B. Aycock got the win against Fike on Friday by a conclusive 20-0. The win continues a trend for the Golden Falcons in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won seven in a row.

West Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for C.B. Aycock, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-6.

West Johnston couldn't quite finish off C.B. Aycock in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can West Johnston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
