Basketball Recap: North Forest Comes Up Short

North Forest came up into this matchup off a tough 37-point loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Northside Panthers by a score of 53-51 on Monday. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Northside found their leader in sophomore Jerryus Mathews, who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Colmenero, who scored 12 points and eight rebounds.

North Forest's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Northside, their record is now 5-17.

When North Forest and Northside next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. North Forest will take on Washington and their six-game winning streak at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Northside will try to stop Yates' six-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
