Football Recap: Booneville Takes a Loss

Booneville lost against Baldwyn back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Bearcats, falling 35-14.

Jack Sandlin threw for 142 yards on 13 of 28 attempts. Kydon Smith was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards.

Jourdan Crump had a dynamite game For Baldwyn., rushing for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those 122 rushing yards gave Crump a new career-high. Gray Earnest was another key player, picking up 89 receiving yards and one TD.

Booneville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Baldwyn, the win (which was their 13th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Booneville will challenge East Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baldwyn, they will face off against Nettleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
