Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Perkins Pirates

Sandusky is 9-1 against the Pirates since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sandusky Blue Streaks will head out on the road to take on the Perkins Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Sandusky knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully the Pirates likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Sandusky didn't have too much trouble with the Tigers at home as they won 63-44. Given Sandusky's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Tigers are ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sandusky got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amir Aaron out in front who scored 19 points along with seven steals and two blocks. Aazoriyon Bonner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Perkins' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bay.

Sandusky's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Perkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Sandusky skirted past the Pirates 77-75 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandusky since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
