Volleyball Game Preview: JSerra Catholic Lions vs. Mater Dei Monarchs + Official Tickets

JSerra Catholic hasn't had much luck against Mater Dei recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will challenge the Monarchs at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

JSerra Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Orange Lutheran 3-2.

Madison Goodrich and Kendall Stark were among the main playmakers for JSerra Catholic as the former had 22 digs and four assists and the latter had five digs and three aces. That's the most digs Stark has posted since back in September. Rory Mckelvie also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Meanwhile, Mater Dei had already won 12 in a row and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

JSerra Catholic's record is now 17-13. As for Mater Dei, their record now sits at 28-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: JSerra Catholic has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Mater Dei struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
