Baseball Game Preview: Shipley vs. Penncrest Lions

Shipley will take on the Penncrest Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shipley came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Celebration, falling 11-1. The contest marked Shipley's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Penncrest and Strath Haven had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Penncrest fell just short of Strath Haven by a score of 4-3 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.

Landon Graham and Andrew Luber-Solic stepped up to the plate in a big way. Graham scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Luber-Solic went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Graham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Nash Grant also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Penncrest, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
