Softball Recap: Dwyer Panthers vs. Oakleaf Knights

On Saturday, the Dwyer Panthers came up short against the Oakleaf Knights and fell 5-1. Dwyer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sierra Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases. Emma Jasperson was another key contributor, going 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

On Oakleaf's side, Amya Mirelez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Mirelez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Mirelez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Meshayla Pettaway was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
