Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Rhodes

While Rhodes's victory against Clearview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Rhodes skirted past Clearview 10-9. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

Jael Matos and Luis Correa did most of the damage at the plate: Matos went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Correa scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two RBI gave Matos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Cardenas, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Rhodes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearview only posted a batting average of .158.

The win (which was Rhodes' fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0. As for Clearview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Rhodes is taking a road trip to square off against John Adams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearview, they will be playing at home against Rittman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
