Football Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside fell victim to Emerald and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Vikings and fell 55-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Christopher Dean had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 34 receiving yards for Emerald. Beau Hite was another key player, throwing for 200 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Emerald, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside will welcome Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Hurricanes have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. As for Emerald, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fountain Inn at 7:30 p.m.
