Recap: Priory Panthers vs. King's Academy Knights

The Priory Panthers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (59-55), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while King's Academy is ranked 188th).

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Balasz Nyikos, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Nyikos pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Noah Gallon, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Priory used a slightly different lineup for their bout with King's Academy. And. Jai Georedette made the most of the opportunity, scoring 12 points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Priory's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for King's Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Priory will head out on the road to challenge Menlo School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Priory focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for King's Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Sacred Heart Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart Prep will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something King's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
