Baseball Recap: Clinton County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Clinton County waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Metcalfe County Hornets 5-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 10-6 victory on Monday.

Clinton County let Crit Cowan and Caleb Thrasher run wild. Cowan went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI, while Thrasher went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those three hits gave Cowan a new career-high. Jaxson Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clinton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Clinton County's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Metcalfe County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Coming up, Clinton County will face off against Hart County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Metcalfe County, they will take on Edmonson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
