Football Recap: St. Francis Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

St. Francis had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Natalia Zitelli did her part to make it six on Wednesday. The Troubadours breezed past the Cordova Lancers to the tune of 57-6 with plenty of help from Zitelli, who rushed for 136 yards and three scores, and also threw for 11 yards and one TD. She was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Francis' defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Lucia Vicio and Anastacia Uniza, who racked up all four sacks between them. Monet Zauner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Francis' win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Cordova, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on Monterey Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cordova, they will face off against Del Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
