Softball Recap: Allegheny-Clarion Valley Has No Trouble Against East Forest

Allegheny-Clarion Valley's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the East Forest Bears get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant victory of the season.

The result came thanks to Ashlyn Walker's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lillian Hayden and Alivya Hartzell did most of the damage at the plate: Hayden went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hartzell went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Hayden also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kya Wetzel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Allegheny-Clarion Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Allegheny-Clarion Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

The future could be bright for both Allegheny-Clarion Valley and East Forest: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Falcons will look to extend Oil City's 11-game losing streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Forest will try to hand Kane their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
