Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jenna Wyndham and Sophie Hales Lead Christian Educational Consortium to Victory

Christian Educational Consortium won the last time they faced Iroquois and things went their way on Saturday too. The Christian Educational Consortium Cougars snuck past the Iroquois Raiders with a 43-37 victory. The squad ran away with 31 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Leading Christian Educational Consortium to victory were Sophie Hales and Jenna Wyndham. Hales posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Wyndham had 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Hales has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Raley, who put up six points.

Christian Educational Consortium smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Iroquois' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Fifi Munezero, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Ty'Aiona Clay-Toole, who posted 22 points. That was a full 59.5% of Iroquois' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Christian Educational Consortium is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Iroquois, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Educational Consortium will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Iroquois, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kentucky Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
