Football Game Preview: Gulf Buccaneers vs. River Ridge Royal Knights + How To Watch

Gulf is 1-7 against River Ridge since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Royal Knights at 7:00 p.m. Gulf will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

On Friday, Gulf strolled past Fivay with points to spare, taking the game 39-21.

One reason for the win was Gulf's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Aidan Englebrecht was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Gulf received some extra help from Antwon Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, River Ridge entered their matchup against Clearwater last Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Royal Knights were beaten by the Tornadoes 46-7. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Royal Knights, who until this contest were averaging 14.38 points allowed.

Gulf's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for River Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
