Basketball Recap: Verona Takes a Loss

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Millburn Millers on the road by a 49-33 margin. The Hillbillies were not able to make up for their loss to the Millers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Leading Millburn to victory were Chase Plotkin and Chace Redler. Plotkin went 10 for 19 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds, while Redler posted 12 points along with five assists and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Redler a new career-high in blocks (two). Ander Berman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Millburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Verona has already played their next contest (against Wallkill Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Millburn will challenge Arts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
