Softball Game Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. St. James Sharks

For the second straight game, Carolina Forest will face off against St. James. Carolina Forest will host St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carolina Forest 3.4, St. James 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Carolina Forest fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against St. James on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 4-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalie Nesheiwat was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoey Wohlers, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

The win was the fifth in a row for St. James, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Carolina Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
