Recap: Garden Grove Argonauts vs. Ocean View Seahawks
The Garden Grove Argonauts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-58 to Ocean View. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (55), Garden Grove still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Garden Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drue Anzai. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Wilson, who scored 14 points.
Garden Grove struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are 1-2 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Ocean View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Ackerman, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ackerman hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Blake Girotti was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Garden Grove bumped their record down to 8-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ocean View, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Garden Grove will head out on the road to square off against Godinez Fundamental at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Godinez Fundamental has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 411 points over their last seven contests. As for Ocean View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Westminster's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
