Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers

Having just played yesterday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will jump right back in to play the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Notre Dame sitting on three straight wins and Boyd-Buchanan on 12.

On Thursday, Notre Dame strolled past Silverdale Academy with points to spare, taking the game 60-44.

Gaas Herman was his usual excellent self, putting up 25 points. The game was his 22nd in a row with at least 15 points. Cooper Campbell was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Meanwhile, Boyd-Buchanan humbled St. Andrews-Sewanee with a 79-34 victory. The Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Boyd-Buchanan pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.5 points. As for Notre Dame, the win got them back to even at 14-14.

Notre Dame came up short against Boyd-Buchanan in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 50-38. Can Notre Dame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
