Softball Preview: Bon Homme Cavaliers vs. Hanson Beavers

The Bon Homme Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Hanson Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bon Homme comes in on 13 and Hanson on five.

Bon Homme stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Wagner with a sharp 19-2 win.

Bon Homme got a massive performance out of Olivia Bures, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Bures is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taycee Ranek, who went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and a stolen base.

Meanwhile, Hanson stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard last Thursday. Everything went their way against McCook Central/Montrose as Hanson made off with a 13-3 victory.

Olivia Kayser made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Kayser was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacey Schoenrock was incredible, going 3-for-3 with five RBI, a triple, and a run. Cadence Jarding was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Bon Homme pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hanson, their record now sits at 10-3.

Bon Homme was able to grind out a solid victory over Hanson in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bon Homme since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
