Basketball Game Preview: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. North Springs Spartans

Southwest DeKalb is a perfect 3-0 against North Springs since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Southwest DeKalb will be strutting in after a victory while North Springs will be coming in after a loss.

Southwest DeKalb is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Arabia Mountain: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Rams out of the water with a 70-29 final score. The Panthers have beaten the Rams the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.

Thomas Glanton, III went supernova, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Jackson Ushery was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, North Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-51 to Blessed Trinity.

Southwest DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for North Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Southwest DeKalb took their victory against North Springs in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 71-48 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
