Gordon came tearing into Friday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 56-24 victory over the Godley Wildcats. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1070th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gordon's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.8 points over those games. As for Godley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 17 of their last 18 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gordon will challenge Eula at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eula will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Gordon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Godley, they will take on Alvarado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alvarado has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three contests.
