Basketball Recap: Sheridan Takes Down Frankton in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sheridan had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Frankton Eagles 58-26. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kenzie Garner, who went 9 of 19 to rack up 25 points along with seven boards and six steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Eaton, who posted ten points and three steals.

Sheridan was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankton only racked up six assists.

Frankton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Hoagland, who put up six points, and Lainey Hamaker, who scored four points. Hoagland has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

The win (which was Sheridan's 20th in a row) raised their record to 22-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points over those games. As for Frankton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Sheridan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-12 victory against Tipton on the 7th. Frankton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
