Basketball Game Preview: Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers vs. Pope County Pirates

Joppa-Maple Grove hasn't had much luck against Pope County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers are taking a road trip to take on the Pope County Pirates at 5:30 p.m. Pope County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Joppa-Maple Grove, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Joppa-Maple Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shawnee, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win.

Meanwhile, Pope County came up short against Century on Saturday and fell 61-52. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pope County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Joppa-Maple Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 2-21.

Joppa-Maple Grove was taken down by Pope County 89-32 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Joppa-Maple Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
