Softball Game Preview: Earlville Red Raiders vs. Indian Creek Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Earlville will face off against Indian Creek. The Red Raiders will welcome the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Earlville is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Indian Creek a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

On Monday, Earlville needed a bit of extra time to put away Indian Creek. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Timberwolves. That's two games straight that the Red Raiders have won by exactly two runs.

For Indian Creek's part, Avery Boehne was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 15 batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. Boehne has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Gretta Oziah was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madison Boehne, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Indian Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Earlville, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
