Baseball Game Preview: McLoud Redskins vs. Harrah Panthers

McLoud is 0-10 against Harrah since March of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Redskins will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. McLoud will be strutting in after a victory while Harrah will be coming in after a defeat.

Harrah will be up against a hot McLoud team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Redskins walked away with a 12-7 win over Prague on Thursday.

Parker Ryan looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tucker Mapira, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Gavyn Morgan was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Harrah duked it out with Ada on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 15-5 to the Cougars.

Brayden Costilla and Joey Mclaughlin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Costilla went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Mclaughlin went 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Cal Whitnah, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

McLoud's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harrah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

McLoud came up short against Harrah in their previous matchup back in March, falling 5-0. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
