Burbank piles up the points against Highlands

Recap: Burbank Bulldogs vs. Highlands Owls

The Burbank Bulldogs can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 83-40 win over Highlands on the road. The win was nothing new for Burbank as they're now sitting on six straight.

Burbank's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zara'nique Nealy, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine assists, and 11 steals. Nealy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Olivia De la cruz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Highlands lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elaya Walker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Highlands smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 21st loss (out of 29 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Burbank has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. As for Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-26.

Burbank will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against MacArthur at 7:30 p.m. Burbank is on a 13-game streak of home wins, MacArthur a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Highlands, they will head out on the road to face off against Alamo Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alamo Heights is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
