Softball Game Preview: St. Clair Saints vs. Lakeview Huskies

The St. Clair Saints will square off against the Lakeview Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Clair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Lakeview will be up against a hot St. Clair squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Saints came out on top against Anchor Bay by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Hayley McFarlane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madisyn Treat was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Gracie Pickelhaupt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lakeview came up short against Utica on Wednesday and fell 4-1. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Clair, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2-2.

St. Clair took their win against Lakeview in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-1 score. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
